SUMMARY:Public Hearing: Alternatives to Traffic Enforcement
DESCRIPTION:From Council President Marqueece Harris Dawson: \nOne of my main priorities is ensuring that our streets are safe and that public safety is approached through a community-driven lens. We’ve seen the data showing that when drivers get pulled over for minor infractions\, it does not lead to safer neighborhoods. We also know that many of the drivers getting pulled over pretextually (stop and frisk in a car) are Black and Brown residents in LA. To keep everyone safe\, we must do better\, and we need to hear from you! \nThe City Council will review data on these stops and hear from the public this week for a special joint committee meeting at City Hall on March 6 at 1:00 p.m. \nRead more about recent data on pretextual stops here. \nMeeting Details: \nWhen: Friday\, March 6\, 2026\, at 1:00 p.m.\nWhere: Los Angeles City Hall – Council Chambers\n200 N. Spring Street\, Los Angeles\, CA 90012 \nIf you can’t make it\, you can also submit written comments at cityclerk.lacity.org/publiccomment.

SUMMARY:DOT RIDER Survey Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) recently launched the RIDER Study: Real Inputs Driving Everyday Routes to strengthen and modernize its transit services. This citywide study focuses on gathering feedback from riders and community members to help improve services including DASH\, Commuter Express\, LAnow microtransit\, and Cityride Dial-a-Ride. \nThe RIDER Study aims to improve safety and rider satisfaction\, enhance reliability and on-time performance\, optimize routes and services\, and better align LADOT transit with other transportation networks. The study will also help prepare the City for upcoming major events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup\, 2027 Super Bowl\, and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. \nLADOT is holding a virtual workshop on Wednesday\, March 11th from 6-7PM to share more information about the RIDER survey and how LADOT will use the results to plan changes to the city’s transit services. \nWe invite you to participate in the survey\, so we can better understand our riders’ experiences and where we can improve. As a thank-you\, everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a $50 gift card. \nRIDER Survey \nOpen through Sunday\, March 15 \nbit.ly/riderstudy_survey \nVirtual Workshop \nWednesday\, March 4th from 6-7PM\nbit.ly/RIDER-StudyVirtualMeeting
