Cesar Chavez Day in South LA

On Saturday, March 25, from 10 am to 1 pm, join the Council District Eight team at the Stanford Avalon Community Garden to celebrate the legacy of Cesar Chavez, the civil rights activist who championed farmworkers’ rights and fought for social justice. The event promises to be a family-friendly, fun-filled, educational day for all.
The festivities will include a range of activities that showcase sustainable gardening practices, such as planting seedlings and composting, as well as performances of mariachi music and ballet folklorico, along with arts and crafts for the kids. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just curious about your community, this unique event has something for everyone.
