Please click the link below for the recording of the Zoom Town Hall regarding the Emergency Temporary Shelter at St. Andrews Recreation Center. Hosted by the Empowerment Congress Southwest Area Neighborhood Development Council, speaker include Mayor Garcetti’s Southwest Area Representative David Price, CD8 Field Deputy Isaias Benavides and CD8 Homelessness Policy Fellow Aden Binyam. The session answers questions about how the location was set up, comments on how the park walking path is still available to the community. Any of the homeless residents who test positive for COVID-19 are isolated in a temporary trailer. Residents are permitted to come and go as they please. Return is dependent upon clearance by the nurse. Families are being referred to other facilities.

LAPD is on site 24×7. For issues, please contact Senior Lead Officer Jeanette Roman: (323) 387-9603.

When the Mayor lifts the emergency declaration, the 20 recreation and parks center now being used for homeless housing will be converted back to regular use. ECSWANDC asked that the City provide specifics about how the facility will be cleaned and readied for the community when it is no longer used as a homeless temporary shelter.
