The Goldhirsh Foundation funds organizations making Los Angeles better through our LA2050 Grants Challenge.

Together with our partners – including the Annenberg Foundation, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Snap Foundation, and others – we are granting an anticipated $3 million to organizations across Los Angeles County, with individual awards of up to $75,000.

Last month, we asked Angelenos to vote for the issues that matter most to them and determine our 2025 funding priorities, which are:

  • Access to Tech & Creative Industry Employment
  • Affordable Housing & Homelessness
  • Community Safety
  • Green Space, Park Access &Trees
  • Health Care Access
  • Income Inequality
  • K-12 STEAM Education
  • Public Transit
  • Immigrant & Refugee Support
  • Support for Foster & Systems-Impacted Youth

+ Sponsored Issue Areas

  • Adult Literacy
  • Youth Economic Advancement
  • Wildfire Relief

If you’re connected with nonprofit, for-profit, or government organizations working to make an impact in any of the issue areas listed above, we encourage you to invite them to join an upcoming Information Session to learn more about this year’s grant application process.

Note: This year, attendance at a virtual Information Session is required in order to access the application link. The application will not be made available on our website, we will send the link directly to attendees following each session.

The LA2050 Grants Challenge application portal closes on June 6th, 2025 at 5:00 PM. There’s still plenty of time left to put together a successful proposal! Learn more.

For those familiar with the LA2050 Grants Challenge process prior to 2022, please note that organizations no longer go through public voting to receive a grant. We’ve transitioned to a new model: first, public voting takes place first to determine the eligible issue areas; next, organizations submit their ideas to impact those issue areas; and, finally, applications are reviewed and evaluated by an external committee.
