April 22, 2022 was the Groundbreaking for EVERMONT, a two-phase development located at the northeast corner of South Vermont and West Manchester. The first phase, currently under construction, is a SEED LA college-prep Charter boarding school for career readiness in transportation infrastructure, STEM, and the humanities. This phase is being developed by ExED.
The second phase will include commercial (retail and office) components of a transformative 160,000 square foot mixed-use development on 4.2 acres of urban infill land in South LA.
After many years of disinvestment in South LA, especially following the 1992 Uprising, we are breaking ground on this vacant lot. This is not just a symbol of moving forward but an opportunity for increased employment in the 8th.
